Features Discuss

Follow the thread of team discussions.

Promote discussion

Discussion threads occurring about the content within your wiki are as important as the content itself. Using comments, Confluence enables your team to easily have these valuable discussions on any page or blog-post.

Comments

Comments are searchable and linkable just like any other piece of Confluence content.

A new home for your mail

Confluence also archives your team's email conversations, so you can find email as easily as any page.

In any organisation, a lot of very important communication happens by email. However, traditional email clients are a terrible information resource:

  • Everyone's inbox is different — everyone has different information.
  • Personal email archives and folders are of varying standards.
  • Mail is often lost or deleted, leaving no record of important decisions.
  • Most email client software searches large volumes of mail very poorly.

The solution? Confluence as a team mail archive!

A better mail archive

Just CC: your email discussions to Confluence's mailbox for a permanent, always-available record.

Mail Archive

Once archived within Confluence, your team's mail is:

  • Viewable by anyone who has appropriate permissions.
  • Searchable — including the full content of email attachments.
  • Threaded to keep track of whole conversations.

Usage example: Your colleague emails a Microsoft Word document to the team, cc'ing Confluence. The email is stored in Confluence and the full content of the email and the Word document is now searchable.

Follow the conversation

Confluence's support for mail threading — following conversations in email — is better than many dedicated email clients. In a glance you can get the gist of an entire conversation, saving you important time.
