JIRA Screenshot tour
Features – Email
JIRA integrates with your email system to deliver the information you need, when you need it.
Email notifications
JIRA can automatically send you an email whenever an issue is:
- created
- updated
- assigned
- resolved
- worked on
... or any other event of your choice.
Each event can be configured to notify any combination of users, groups, roles or external email addresses:
You can add yourself as a 'watcher' to any issue. Once you start watching an issue you'll be notified via email of any events relating to that issue.
Replies to email notifications can automatically be added to issues as comments. JIRA can even create users on-the-fly based on the sender's email address.
Real-time search results via email
You can receive the latest information direct to your inbox simply by subscribing to a saved filter.
Usage example: Let's say you want to be alerted to high priority issues which are overdue. You could create a saved filter which identifies all of the high priority issues, raised over 1 week ago, which have not yet been resolved. You could then elect to have that information emailed to you every morning.
Better still, as email is accessible via so many devices these days, you can now be alerted to your high priority issues on the way to work via your Blackberry or other email enabled device.
