JIRA Screenshot tour
Features – Secure
JIRA provides fine-grained enterprise level security ensuring that you can confidently provide access to all stakeholders.
System level security
Access to JIRA is controlled by global permissions. These determine system wide privileges, such as who can administer or log into your JIRA installation.
Project level security
Project permissions are very fine-grained and dictate who can see issues, who can create issues, who can edit issues, who can assign issues and much more.
Project permissions can be granted to:
- Individual users
- Groups (e.g. customers, help desk staff, partners)
- Roles such as 'Reporter', 'Project Lead', 'Current Assignee', or custom 'Project Roles' of your choice
- 'Anyone' (e.g. to allow anonymous access)
Issue level security
Issue level security allows you to control the visibility of individual issues.
Usage example: Staff can view all issues (unresolved and resolved) whilst customers can view only resolved issues.
Comment level security
Visibility of individual comments can be restricted to certain groups.
Usage example: Within customer-facing projects, some comments can only be viewed by project staff.
