Expanding the pathways to Atlassian Cloud

Atlassian has been on a mission to empower teams to unleash their full potential for more than two decades. In recent years, we’ve seen more teams thrive leveraging the latest technology in Atlassian Cloud. Take, for instance, the California Department of Healthcare team that’s modernizing healthcare for millions of California residents. Or the team at Reddit, bringing community, belonging, and empowerment to over 100 million users worldwide every day. Or the team at Rivian, saving 750+ hours/person every year with automation while setting the standard for the electric vehicle industry.

Protecting highly confidential ideas is critical to achieving breakthrough innovations. For example, the formula for a new drug must be perfected before it reaches the market. The algorithm that allows your bank to protect and grow your investments needs to be guarded.

Since the launch of our Cloud Enterprise plan, we’ve been continually investing to help more organizations adopt our innovative cloud technology while maintaining the control required to protect unique, proprietary ideas. We’ve expanded support for compliance frameworks and built tools to give enterprises more visibility and control over users and access, shadow IT, where data is hosted and how it is handled. And last year we added a premium security app, Atlassian Guard, for proactive security management.

To provide even more opportunities for U.S. government customers and large enterprises with strict security and compliance requirements to modernize teamwork on the Atlassian Platform, we are expanding our cloud deployment options. We are announcing two new offerings:

  • Atlassian Government Cloud, with the recent FedRAMP Moderate authorization, is now available in early access for U.S. government agencies and their industry partners.
  • Atlassian Isolated Cloud, an Atlassian-managed virtual private cloud option for organizations that need to keep highly sensitive data in a dedicated environment, will be available in 2026.

Atlassian cloud solutions enable seamless organization-wide collaboration, enhanced access to data-driven insights, and streamlined administrative processes. Customers migrating from Atlassian Data Center to Atlassian Cloud can access the latest innovations in cloud technology underpinned by world-class security, privacy, compliance, and reliability while also offloading server maintenance costs.

Meet Atlassian Government Cloud

Atlassian Government Cloud is a cloud option hosted in a separate environment reserved for U.S. government agencies and their industry partners. As of last month, U.S. government customers are already collaborating with additional controls and security measures in accordance with FedRAMP Moderate requirements via an early access program.

Today, Atlassian Government Cloud has FedRAMP Moderate authorization and is available for Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. We’re currently working on adding more apps and features to this offering so that U.S. government teams can harness the full power of Atlassian Cloud. And we’ve committed to meeting additional federal compliance and security standards with future investments such as FedRAMP High and U.S. Department of Defense Impact Level 5 (IL5) compliance. Keep an eye on our roadmap for more updates soon.

Coming soon: Atlassian Isolated Cloud

Coming in 2026, Atlassian Isolated Cloud will enable large enterprises managing sensitive data to collaborate securely on an Atlassian-managed cloud. With dedicated storage, compute, networking, applications, and databases in a virtual private cloud, companies can enhance protection for critical data.

With Atlassian Isolated Cloud, teams previously prevented from using Atlassian cloud solutions due to single tenant requirements or other security concerns will be able to unlock a more modern, connected experience in Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.

Plus, because we know security is the top concern for customers who need an isolated environment, in addition to the added protection that comes from isolation, Atlassian Isolated Cloud will include advanced security controls from the Atlassian Cloud Enterprise Edition and Atlassian Guard Premium.
