An extra line of defense for your Atlassian cloud
Your security needs continue to expand in response to the ever-evolving threat landscape and increasing reliance on cloud platforms. Atlassian’s cloud products have adapted accordingly, allowing you to concentrate on putting your teams’ best work forward without worrying about the protection of your data.
To start, we build all of our cloud products on a common trusted platform, giving you foundational security capabilities by default. In 2018, we launched Atlassian Access, our first identity and access management tool specifically designed for Atlassian cloud. And now, over 70% of our enterprise cloud customers, like United Airlines and Zoom, rely on Access. In 2023, we launched the Beacon beta program with threat detection and response capabilities to help you mitigate threats to your Atlassian cloud data.
Today, we’re unveiling our next chapter in cloud security: Atlassian Guard.
Atlassian Guard unifies existing Access and Beacon beta capabilities and brand-new data loss prevention functionality into one product with two plans:
- Atlassian Guard Standard gives you all of the Access capabilities you already depend on and more. While the name has changed, the pace of innovation has not, with new capabilities like enforced single sign-on (SSO) for external users and expanded data & mobile security policies coming soon.
- Atlassian Guard Premium builds upon Atlassian Guard Standard and the Beacon beta capabilities and goes even further with data classifications, expanded threat detection & investigation, and robust audit logging.
Meet Atlassian Guard Premium
With Atlassian Guard Premium, you can set up and enforce security policies on users and their work, surface high-risk threats fast with centralized insights and alerts, and respond to threats within minutes of the alert.
Proactively protect your data from misuse with advanced controls
With distributed teams working from unmanaged devices across multiple Atlassian cloud products, you need proactive controls to manage user access and protect confidential work, so you can prevent incidents from happening in the first place.
With Atlassian Guard Premium, you can:
- Label your most sensitive work with data classification levels.
- Apply data security policies to block data exfiltration actions such as exporting certain data and the creation of public links.
Detect and investigate suspicious behavior
When a threat inevitably arises, you need visibility to detect suspicious activity and assess risk so that you don’t lose valuable work, face regulatory fines, or impact your bottom line.
With Atlassian Guard Premium, you can:
- Discover data misuse and anomalous user behavior with content scanning and user activity detections so that you’re alerted to risks such as excessive page exports and suspicious IP logins.
- Speed up response time by integrating alerts into Slack, Microsoft Teams, or a security information and event management tool (SIEM) that your security teams already use.
Respond to threats before they become incidents
We know how labor-intensive it is to sift through logs to investigate a specific incident and determine which remediation steps to take, especially when every minute counts. Third-party threat detection tools can help detect anomalous behavior, but these tools don’t know the ins and outs of Atlassian products the way that we do.
With Atlassian Guard Premium, you can:
- Get detailed alert information that provides you with a consolidated view of what actions the user took, their location, and a count of other alerts that they’ve triggered.
- Conduct a holistic investigation of suspicious events with actor profiles that centralize information about a user, their access, and activity in one view.
- Take action with suggested remediations including suspending a user’s access with one click, revoking API keys, and restricting permissions.

With the introduction of Atlassian Guard, we’ve entered the next chapter in cloud security for the Atlassian Cloud. We can’t wait to see how customers like you continue to push the boundaries of innovation in Atlassian cloud while protecting your team’s mission-critical work.
