Summit_Logo_Transparent.pngThis is another post in our ongoing preview of Atlassian Summit 2010. For the next few months leading up to Atlassian Summit, we’ll be publishing interviews and guest posts from our speakers and sponsors at the event. This interview is with Craig Smith at Suncorp.
craig-suncorp.pngWhat’s your title and role within the organization?

Agile Coach at Suncorp.
Suncorp is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest diversified financial services providers, supplying banking, insurance and wealth management products to around 7 million customers through well-established and recognised brands such as AAMI, Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency, Shannons, Vero, Asteron and Tyndall, as well as Suncorp and GIO. Today, Suncorp is Australia’s fifth largest bank and second largest domestic general insurance group, with over 16,000 staff. Suncorp has representation in 450 offices, branches and agencies throughout Australia and New Zealand.
What product(s) will you be presenting at Summit?

I’ll be presenting on Jira and GreenHopper, and how we use it organisation wide for our Agile and Kanban storywalls.
How is your team using these tool(s)?

We are using Jira for tracking projects and issues across a wide number of technology projects and teams. We have rolled an Agile change program across the organisation, and GreenHopper is used on a large number of our initiatives for managing project backlog, tracking virtual storywalls and creating project burndowns. We also use Confluence for storing our project information.
Please give us a short preview of your presentation.
I will be giving an overview of Agile and Kanban and how we use Jira and GreenHopper in our software development, software maintenance and infrastructure teams.
What do you hope to get out of Summit yourself?

I am looking forward to meeting other people who use Atlassian products, especially in an agile environment and am also looking forward to meeting more of the folks from Atlassian. Plus, I have never been to San Francisco before, so that is also a bonus!
