A week-long celebration of how Premium can help teams supercharge collaboration

On November 4-8, 2024, we hosted Confluence Premium Week ’24 – a celebration of the robust features of Confluence Premium and how these features can supercharge your team’s productivity.

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what a community member had to say after participating in Premium Week: “I’m enjoying Premium week. I’ve attended more sessions this week than i did the past 2 years. Good info and even if you’re an expert, I recommend attending some sessions as there are LOTS of new features to learn about.

So without further ado – for those who missed it, want a recap, or want to share insights with your colleague, we have you covered! Read on to learn what makes Confluence Premium an essential tool for teams scaling their collaboration efforts and what we covered as part of Confluence Premium Week ‘24!

What is Confluence Premium?

Confluence Premium is designed to give teams enhanced control, visibility, and efficiency at scale. Teams can access advanced collaborative tools, like AI and unlimited whiteboards, to bridge work across departments, eliminate silos, and speed up teamwork. Confluence Premium also supports teamwork and knowledge sharing at scale, providing teams and admins with enhanced visibility, advanced controls, and improved platform support.

Whether you’re a growing organization or a large enterprise, Confluence Premium provides features to help teams stay aligned and easily collaborate.

With that, let’s look at some key takeaways and insights from Confluence Premium Week!

Day 1: A red carpet start to Premium Week

To kick off Premium Week’s “Primetime with Confluence Premium” theme on November 4th, we launched the first-ever Confluence Premium Awards Season. Inspired by the Emmys and Oscars, we invited you to nominate your favorite Confluence Premium feature and tell us why.

We got tons of great submissions from you and your peers! See our community post for official winners of our first Premium Awards Season, as well as a sneak peek of some of the submissions below:

Each award highlights how these features tackle common challenges—streamlining tasks, simplifying permissions, or making insights accessible. Thanks to our community’s creativity, it’s clear that Confluence Premium is essential for empowering teams to work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively.

Day 2: Uniting teams with powerful Premium features

On November 5th, Premium Week continued with a focus on collaboration, showcasing how Confluence Premium’s features can supercharge teamwork.

During a Live Learning session led by Atlassian creator and project management expert Robert Hean, participants saw live demos of Premium features such as the Company Hub, which centralizes organizational news, and upcoming AI features, including the ability to auto-categorize sticky notes into themes on whiteboards. These tools streamline knowledge sharing and internal alignment, helping teams work smarter, not harder. Check out the recording below.

Attendees were also encouraged to share their top takeaways from the session in the comments, with one community member writing:

The session was super insightful! The company hub sounds like an awesome idea. The fact that we can easily modify cards and share knowledge with everyone while working together seamlessly is really cool. And the best part? Project updates will be a breeze with this tool. The whiteboard is so flexible, and it’s a snap to organize our ideas into actionable steps. Oh, and the rewriting feature is a game-changer – it lets us change the tone of our written text in a flash.”

The day didn’t stop there. An exciting Company Hub Community Challenge was announced, giving participants the chance to showcase their own Confluence Company Hub creations and inspire others. Winners were eligible for a variety of prizes, including up to $1,000 and recognition within the Company Hub gallery.

Day 3: Showing Premium admins some love

On November 6th, Confluence Premium Week celebrated the behind-the-scenes heroes—admins. Like directors on a film set, they juggle everything from onboarding to troubleshooting. Day 3’s theme, “And the Outstanding Admin Award Goes To…,” honored admins’ dedication and highlighted Confluence Premium’s powerful features designed to simplify their work.

Admins were invited to participate in two learning opportunities, tailored to their experience levels:

  1. For new or exploring admins:
    • The free on-demand webinar, “How Admins Can Level Up with Confluence Premium”, walked attendees through the essentials of admin-focused Premium features, like automation, mission control, and admin key. Watch the on-demand webinar here.
  2. For experienced admins:
    • Live Learning session with Atlassian partner Matt Reiner dug deeper into the latest Premium features built specifically for admins, including edit space key, new features to manage spaces and user access, and updating custom domains. Watch the recording below.

Attendees were encouraged to share their top insights in the comments after watching the webinar or attending the live session. Here’s a sneak peek of what folks had to say:

The day celebrated admins’ crucial role in keeping everything running smoothly and gave them the tools to earn that Outstanding Admin Award at their organizations!

Day 4: The award-winning duo of Confluence and Jira

On November 7th, Premium Week continued with celebrating the ultimate power couple: Confluence Premium and The Jiras  (Jira and Jira Service Management).

In this webinar, product leaders from Confluence, Jira, and JSM took center stage to demo how these products work effortlessly to optimize collaboration, streamline operations, and unlock new levels of efficiency. Watch the webinar on-demand and read the recap blog.

Day 5: That’s a wrap – AMA with the Confluence Product Team!

To close out Premium Week on November 8th, Confluence Premium hosted an AMA with product leads, answering questions on scaling automation, the Company Hub, and insights from earlier events like the Live Learning sessions and Confluence-Jira integration webinar.

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the questions and answers that were posted:

  1. Q:What are some innovative ways Confluence Premium’s automation tools can be used to reduce redundancy in documentation and streamline content updates across large teams or departments?
A: I’d recommend leveraging the following templates to get this going:
    • 1.  Send an email with an AI-generated summary and action items when a meeting notes page is published
    • 2. Create a Jira issue for engineering to review new product requirements
    • 3. Start leveraging Verified status and manage it with the Verified Pages automation template.
  2. Q: I don’t see the “Spaces” feature yet in Confluence. Do we have any posts from Atlassian regarding this release?
A: Yes! Spaces was released in October. Here’s a community post about its release.

This AMA wrapped up Premium Week with a bang, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage directly with Confluence experts and get the answers they needed to take their Premium experience to the next level.
