How do you use AI in your operations?
We view AI as a civilizational advancement, opening doors for increased creativity and productivity. It’s never been as easy as it is now, with the introduction of LLMs (large language models), to get access to virtual intellectual sparring partners to help us validate our ideas and explore new directions and perspectives. AI helps us complete tasks that are mundane but were complex enough to require human engagement in the past, and today we can redistribute our efforts more effectively.
Apart from the usual experiments with copilots for developers, quality assurance engineers, and technical writers? We implement innovations, and share them on the Atlassian Marketplace, to automate IT service management processes, analyze customer’s feedback, and generate release notes from requirements. We’ve successfully run internal tests to generate test cases from requirements, and this will become available in our Requirements & Test Management app soon.
Like many organizations, we encourage our teams at K15t to experiment proactively with AI tools in their daily work, and then share their learnings for the benefit of all. Helpful use case stories and best practices are published in internal blog posts and documented in our Confluence knowledge base, and we regularly host AI lunch-and-learns and informational webinars. So far our most successful and repeatable uses include solving the ‘blank page problem’ when beginning an initiative; solving the ‘blank prompt problem’ which is a very meta way of using AI itself to explain how it can be useful for problem solving; summarizing the key points of larger articles and information sources; as a brainstorming partner to help ideate and iterate on concepts.
We have several experiments running concurrently which will eventually add AI functionality to multiple K15t products. The one we will be previewing at Atlassian Team involves using our Scroll Viewport app to add a generative AI assistant directly into a help center website, which provides natural language answers using the documentation on the site.
